Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:

Romans 14:7-12
Psalm 27:1,4,13-14
Luke 15:1-10

A reflection on today's Scripture:

Whether we live or die, it must be for God, and not for ourselves. We are not our own masters. That is why Jesus came and died for us all, so that we may have life eternal with God. We are also to hold our tongues and not be critical with one another, for we are all brothers, and we are all equal in God's eyes. We do not look down on anyone, and we look up only to our Lord, our Supreme Ruler.

In today's Gospel, the Pharisees and scribes noted that Jesus welcomed and ate with public sinners. Do we take the time to spread the Word of God, even among strangers? Our everyday lives should center on all who we meet; for together, we should be on the road to righteousness which leads to salvation. When the "lost" are found, there is much joy in Heaven!

With God's help, let us take the time to pray for redemption for ourselves and our brothers, for our ultimate goal on earth is to one day be in heaven with God our Father.
