Always Thank God
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Daniel 6:12-28
Daniel 3:68-74
Luke 21:20-2
A reflection on today's Scripture:
St. Paul wrote that for us all he continually thanked God for giving us Jesus Christ. How
grateful we all should be! If we could but for a few minutes ponder that the reason for
our very existence on earth, is to one day be with Jesus forever. On this special day of
many thanks, let us all reflect on the greatest of thanks: that the merciful and loving
God has given us all the best ticket possible anywhere, a passage to Heaven through Jesus
Christ.
In the gospel, Jesus cured ten men of leprosy. Only one man, however, took the time to
return and thank Jesus, who declared that the leper's faith was his salvation. This means
that Jesus is the way, truth, and life. Jesus is the source of healing, the source of
love, the source of salvation. For even the smallest healing, let us all be thankful to
Jesus, our greatest Friend, King, Creator, and Savior.
Jesus, I thank you for being my salvation. I also thank you always for being with me at
all times. And God, thank you for the abundant gifts and blessings you have given me today
and everyday. I am forever grateful to you. Amen.
