Praise and Worship
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Joel 1:13-15;2:1-2
Psalm 9:2-3,6,16,8-9
Luke 11:15-26
A reflection on the Scripture:
The basic battle with the darkness of sin is a daily issue that must be faced just that
way: daily!
This mission of Jesus to cast out demons was to free God's people from the powers of
darkness. Every day we must rise up out of any chance of falling into the grips of
darkness and choose Christ. Each day we do this we enter into life in the Spirit of God.
This gives us the strength and wisdom in our journey to God.
This grace from God helps us foster praise and worship that is due to the Maker of the
universe; it also drives the destructive forces of negativity from our lives. If we try to
live Christian lives based on our own standards and not that of the Gospel we only deceive
ourselves and possibly others, causing division and allowing the prince of darkness to
advance.

O Lord,
you are just
and the judgments you make are right.
Show mercy when you judge me. Amen.
