Heavenly Shopping: All things work for good

One day, a man floating from a shipwreck washes up on a deserted island.  He prays to God for rescue.  "Dear God, I just washed up on this tiny island and I'm stranded here with nothing. Please get me out of here. "But day after day no one came. So the man decided to build a hut with the few small trees he had.

It worked pretty well, and he lived there for a few weeks, praying every day. "Dear God, I've been here on this tiny island for a while now and I'm stranded here with nothing.  Please get me out of here." But after a while he gave up. "Fine.  I guess I'm just stuck here."

A few weeks later, one particularly hot day, some dry brush on his shelter caught fire and all his very meager belongings were destroyed in the fire.  Frustrated, he prayed again. "God, I've been here on this tiny island for a while now and I'm stranded here with nothing. All my stuff just burned up and now I have absolutely nothing.  What am I supposed to do now?"

A day or two later, he was awakened by two people from a passing ship.  "Hey, you know, you're really lucky. We only come by here twice a year or so, and we never stop here. Here, have some water, by the way."
"Thanks...."
...
"....Hey, how did you even know I was here, anyway?"
"Oh, we saw your smoke signal."

Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.  Remember today
that God knows what He's doing even when we don't understand.
