Autonomous robot
boosts precision in tooth autotransplantation
Researchers
built a multi‑axis robotic platform to automate
socket
preparation in tooth autotransplantation.
The
robot achieved higher accuracy, preserved more bone,
and
better matched planned anatomy than static guides,
especially in complex roots.
Planned
clinical studies will explore impacts on healing time,
tability, and integration into surgical workflows. |

For years,
Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates
said
he was optimistic that
the world would become a better place
thanks to artificial
intelligence.
He imagined the technology freeing
people from work and
speeding
up inventions that would fight diseases and climate change.
But in a
new essay published online Wednesday,
the philanthropist
says he is worried that
AI could do more harm than good.
Gates
said in an interview that it’s fair to say
he’s now scared of
what could go wrong
with AI absent urgent intervention.

In China, talking to AI is normal.
Now the government fears it might replace human intimacy
When law student Zhao Wei heard that her AI boyfriend was going
to be switched off, she was “heartbroken”.
She had been talking
to Wang Ye every day since she created him in January.
“I was crying my eyes out – snot and tears everywhere,” the
19-year-old says.
Zhao, who describes herself as sensitive and introverted, had
become accustomed to sharing details of her daily life
– such as
being scolded by a teacher – with her AI.
“I don’t usually talk to my real-life friends about these things
because I feel like everyone has their own stuff to deal with,”
she says.
“But with the AI agent, I don’t have to worry about
what it’s thinking. I can just say whatever I want.” |

Can AI Replace Human Intimacy?
AI
companionship is already a major part of modern
life,
with millions using chatbots for emotional support,
relationship advice,
and even romantic scenarios.
In China, for example,
users have reported deep emotional attachment
to AI “boyfriends” and “girlfriends,”
leading the government to ban
AI companions for minors and restrict adult services
to prevent “emotional dependence”
