Call to Action:
To preserve the American way,
it is crucial to educate youth on the dangers of socialism and the value of freedom,
preventing a potential erosion of liberty nationwide.
Voting & Constitution:
Calls for a new democratic constitution,
abolishing the Electoral College,
expanding the House,
and allowing convicts and noncitizens to vote.

Work & Social Benefits:
Proposes a 32-hour workweek with full pay,
tuition-free college, free housing support,
and a wealth tax on the richest and corporations.

Foreign Policy & Climate:
Advocates for ending military interventions, no deportations,
demilitarized borders,
and implementing the Green New Deal
for sustainable energy and jobs.

People that have actually had to work for a living
knew that Mamdeni's plan was a fraud from day one.

The election of Zohran Mamdani as New York City mayor
set off — for his fan base, anyway — great expectations
of a more "affordable" city.
But the Democratic Socialist hasn't even been sworn in,
and some of his marquee promises are already history.

Start with free buses.
For a city dependent on public transportation,
free buses are a nice idea but also a bad idea.
Fares pay for the buses,
and even if you plug that hole with another revenue source,
free buses would siphon riders from the subways,
in effect defunding them.
Affordable housing? All opposed raise your hands.
Now define it in a New York (or San Francisco) context.
The cost of living in New York City has always been high.
It's high because the demand is intense and the supply is limited for obvious reasons.
It's not Dallas or Omaha with prairies to sprawl into.
It's densely built and mostly hemmed in by bodies of water.
At some point, people who want cheaper housing
or more space need to move to places that actually offer it.
Generations of New Yorkers have done that,
with many moving back when their kids are grown.

"It is hard to believe that a solid majority of young Americans
think democratic socialism is the answer to
the deep-rooted economic problems they face,
given that socialism has utterly failed to uplift
the downtrodden every time and place it has been implemented,”

“However, when they grow up in an environment surrounded by adults who champion democratic socialism, it starts to make sense,"
said Heartland Institute research fellow Chris Talgo.

 The nationwide group consists of chapters in all 50 states
and counts more than 100,000 members.
The group, which is often referred to as the DSA,
says that it thinks “working people should run
both the economy and society democratically
to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few.”
It describes itself as a political and activist organization, but not a party.

Every socialist system my family experienced ultimately depended on force, coercion, and political repression, regardless of the adjectives used to describe it.
It is not a policy. It is not Scandinavia. It is a machine with one consistent function:
it destroys anyone sufficiently capable, principled, or stubborn enough to threaten those who operate it.
It does this legally, bureaucratically, and when necessary, with a rifle.
Before you carry that flag, before you cast that vote, before you cheer that candidate, I ask one thing: know what is behind it.
My family paid for that knowledge with deportation, persecution, exile, and death.
The least you can do is learn that history before you celebrate the ideology that produced it.

US rescue workers pull father, mother and son from rubble after Venezuela earthquakes

LA GUAIRA, Venezuela (AP) —
Angelica Mundrain wants the bodies of her son, niece and nephew to be pulled from
the rubble of her flattened beachfront apartment.
She has spent every minute of the past six days waiting for the heavy machinery needed to
remove the slabs of concrete and twisted metal that trapped them.
So have other Venezuelan earthquake survivors.
They, like others across the northern state of La Guaira, have the same question:
Who is in charge? Venezuela's self-described socialist government,
which long prided itself on being protector and provider, has been neither when it mattered most, many said.

 


Venezuela Monday raised the death toll from last week’s powerful earthquakes to 1,719 people,
with another 5,034 injured and 15,866 displaced.
The numbers are expected to keep rising.
